The River Club

Zambia / Livingstone

Member: Wilderness Safaris

The River Club is Livingstone’s premier resort and destination on the Zambezi River, about 18 km from Victoria Falls. It has won countless awards and is a proud member of Wilderness Safaris and part of the Eco-Luxury group of lodges around the world.

It is located on a magnificent vantage point, provides stunning views over a sweeping bend on the river. The main building has been constructed in colonial style with high plantation ceilings and a thatched roof. You will find a dining room, library, gift shop and a sitting room with a fireplace, card tables and table games. Outside you can play cricket, tennis, go jogging or running on the track. Relax on pool loungers, a private deck or hammock around a magnificent swimming pool with one of the best views of Africa from its infinity vista.

The resort's 10 luxury bungalows all have thatched roofs and are on the banks of the river. Each room is open-plan and beautifully decorated with furniture and fittings made from Rhodesian teak wood. Some bungalows have their own small pool.

Dining at the River Club is at a very elegant level. Guests can sit at an impressively long teak dining table, although most meals tend to be served outside on the elegant terrace or the poolside.

From the Club, guests can enjoy fishing trips, sunset boat trips or Victoria Falls tours. An unforgettable experience is visiting the National Park Musi-oa-Tunya, where you can watch white rhinos, giraffes, zebras, elephants, wildebeest and buffalo. Also worth seeing is the Livingston and Railway Museum. To get to know the locals and rural life, visit one of the nearby African tribal villages.
