The Hotel was built in the early 1950s, on the site of a small fishing village,by the Genoese aristocrat Paolo De Ferrari, after be fell in love at a first sight with Biodola's crystal-clear sea, the heart-wrenching beauty of the bay and its uncontaminated natural setting.
Each room has its own terrace or balcony, framed with geraniums, bougainvillea and luxuriant flowering plants.The rooms are all beautifully furnished in the Mediterranean style.

The elegantly stylish Ristorante Hermitage offers traditional Italian cuisineand an extensive wine list.
La Ghiotta offers typical dishes from Elba at lunchtimes and "live cooking" in the evenings. On Saturday nights, guests can enjoy live music around the swimming pool at Fuoco di Bosco restaurant, inspired by the local tradition of cooking freshly-caught fish around.
Golf Hermitage has a 9-hole course.
